The Reimer Lab
Mathematical and quantitative ecology
Our research takes place at the intersection of mathematics, ecology, and the statistical and computational methods necessary to connect models to data. We leverage recent advances in fields such as uncertainty quantification, optimal control theory, and data science to improve our ability to understand, predict, and detect ecological phenomena. Much of this work is motivated by questions in polar marine biology, a growing interest in the ecology of Great Salt Lake, Utah, and through collaborative projects on a range of other systems.
We are housed in both the Department of Mathematics and the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Utah, and welcome anyone interested in ecological modeling.
